About
So, what is Ashevillage Building Convergence?
The first annual Ashevillage Building Congergence (ABC) is a three-day celebration and citywide collaboration of local communities building sustainable solutions for the city, the land and the people of Asheville.
How can a few days help an entire city?
By involving you and your passion for Asheville. There will be hands-on sustainability projects throughout the city, presentation by nationally renowned and local pioneers, a town meeting based on vision and action planning, community potlucks, local music and arts, a summer solstice celebration, and much more.
Why does Asheville need this now?
Asheville is at a crossroads socially, ecologically, economically, and spiritually. we face important choices for how to grow our community mindfully. In a town with so much already happening, rather than reinventing wheels and duplicating efforts, our aim is to synergize our collective wisdom and strength to move our visions into action together. This is an opportunity for Asheville to experience and create living models of sustainable, regenerative culture while building cohesion amongst us.
When: Starting Thursday, June 19th at 6pm through Saturday night, June 21st. We’ll post a detailed schedule soon.
Events and projects will be hosted at various sites in and around downtown Asheville, West Asheville and nearby neighborhoods.
Everyone is welcome to participate! The ABC is being organized by a partnership of at least 20 local groups, community leaders, and businesses in collaboration with already exising on-the-ground initiatives. Along with all the local involvement, we will be joined by internationally renowned guests: City Repair (from Portland, OR); Starhawk; Julia Butterfly; and others.
