Day in Action: Riverlink Cleanup
Thanks to Jessica Starnes for this footage from the Riverlink Clean-up portion of Ashevillage in Action. We’ll have more from her day at the French Broad River in a bit.
From the Ashevillage Town Hall Meeting

The event kicked-off with an uplifting greeting from Kristin Peppel of the Ashevillage Institute encouraging us to recognize the possibilities of coming together as a community, the possibilities that begin with each of us through authentic action from the heart.
She was followed by Janell Kapoor, organizer of the Ashevillage Building Convergence, who spoke of the event as a way to bring together many visions into cohesive action and also generously thanked the many sponsors, partners, and volunteers who invested ample time and resources to make this three-day event a reality.

Support Sustainability in Asheville by Investing in ABC
The Ashevillage Building Convergence is a project that is held together by a strong common purpose – a better, more sustainable Asheville. But there is another ingredient in the ABC recipe: support of a strong local community. In the last year of planning, ABC has been supported by:
- More than 5000 volunteer hours
- 20+ organizations involved in the hands-on projects in Ashevillage in Action
- More than 100 volunteers involved overall
- Pro bono printing sponsorship, media advertising sponsorships, graphic design sponsorships, documentation sponsorships, and more!
With minimal expenses and an overwhelming response from the community and regional media, the ABC is opening up to additional donor/community investors. If you would like to support the ABC this year, please call Susanne for more information at 814-404-6430, or to see 2008 sponsorship levels as an example of sponsorships for 2009, go to: http://www.ashevillage.org/support.html
