We all know that Asheville is one of the most socially and environmentally progressive cities in the U.S. Stepping up to uphold this reputation, the city has created a committee called the Sustainability Advisory Committee on Energy and the Environment (SACEE). The committee headed by Maggie Ullman, as the city’s energy coordinator, is participating in the Ashevillage Building Convergence. As part of the ABC, volunteers organized by the SACEE will hit city buildings in a gorilla posting campaign, distributing everything from stickers, to post it notes, to posters to city employees and the public. The materials will focus on providing individuals with useful information they can apply to reduce their impact on environmental degradation. In a recent Mountain Xpress article, Ullman indicated that she is very excited by the community support.
